Local dimming is a technique used to enhance the contrast and black levels of an LCD display by controlling the backlighting behind specific areas of the screen. With local dimming, when a specific part of the screen needs to display a darker image or black content, the LEDs (Light-Emitting Diodes) behind that area can be dimmed or turned off, resulting in deeper blacks and improved contrast.
